FAQ: FAQ

Who do we treat?

Anyone of any age who has a musculoskeletal query.

With every new patient we ask you to fill in a short form before your consult, telling us a brief statement about your presenting complaint and existing medical conditions. This helps to speed up questions we may ask you in the consult and begins to create a picture of your wellbeing. Once the case history is completed we will assess areas that may be connected to the cause of your symptoms. This can involve looking at joint mobility and testing muscle strength and tightness. This will allow us to create a working diagnosis ( i.e. one that evolves with reassessment) and a corresponding treatment and management plan.

We will get you moving to assess you when possible! So it makes it easier if you wear clothes you can move easily in, such as, shorts or sports pants.
We may also ask you to remove clothing such as shirts/T-shirts so we can see your shoulder blades and spine to assess them properly. If you are not comfortable with this just let us know and we can work around it.

Any documents from previous manual therapists, imaging specialists or surgeries are very helpful! It can be tricky to remember all the details, especially if your condition is long term. These can help give us an idea of your experience so far with all the technical info!

Your initial consult will be 45 minutes and will cost $80 for Non-ACC claims and $45 for ACC claims.
Your follow-up consults will take 30 minutes depending on the complexity of your case and the fees will remain the same.

How do I know if I qualify for ACC?

We'll help you figure this out or you can jump over to the ACC website for more info:

Everyone in NZ is eligible for ACC if they are injured in an accident regardless of who is at fault. For us, the most common we see are breaks, aches, pains and strains from accidents. As we are primary health care providers we can also advise you where is the most appropriate place to got to if your injury falls outside of our scope of practice. However if you are concerned it is best to call your local GP office.

Yes but we are reasonable people! We would like 24 hours notice if you cannot make an appointment otherwise a 50% consult fee will be charged to you at your next consult. However, if something urgent pops up or you are unwell please give us a ring or text and let us know you can't make it as soon as possible.

Only if you pay by credit card. We will add on a surcharge of 2.95%.
We may suggest you purchase some tools to aid your recovery but these are completely optional.

We haven't had any yet but if you are unsure or unhappy with how quickly things are progressing we ask that you talk to your Osteopath. We often have a few tricks up our sleeve at different ways we can approach treatment such as being more gentle or firm with techniques or by incorporating more personalised exercises into your rehab routine.
