Woohoo! First Blog post!

Hello!

We're 2 Osteopaths with 5+ years of gruelling uni experience that we've completed. Learning Osteopathy in New Zealand involves completing a 3 year long Bachelor of Applied Science and 2+ year long Masters in Osteopathy. Once we've got our 2 bits of paper we become registered with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand (3rd bit of paper). These guys regulate us and make sure we keep our knowledge up to date. Once we've got this then we can register ourselves with ACC, NZ's Accident Compensation Corporation.

We started Body Connect because we think the approach to everyone's health should have what we call a 'whole body view'. This means we're looking at mental/emotional/social health as well as physical. This means we take a more global look at your body. For example, a shoulder issue often effects your neck and back or your arms. So we check-up on these areas (if it's relevant) and see what is the best approach to getting you up and running more smoothly. This fits in with osteopathy's philosophy which basically translates to 'everything is connected' - hence, Body Connect.

Osteopaths use a range of techniques to aid the body's natural healing process, such as, massage, joint articulation, muscle contraction techniques, positional release, balanced ligamentous tension techniques and more!
